The Dilemma : Flatforms

Hey there!

I really can't decide whether I love or hate the HUGE trend for this year: the Flatform. Whenever I see a pair on someone or somewhere I'm always like : OMG I must have a pair of those! The dilemma kicks in when I'm just about to purchase a pair and I try to decide whether they're worth the price. My budget on a pair of shoes is usually based on the number of outfits I can think of styled with them. If I can come up with at least 10 outfits instantly it means I can splurge on a new baby.

The thing with flatforms is that, even if they give you the height you need (and I do need it), they don't give you the same look as a heel or a wedge. Don't get me wrong- I prefer being comfortable then actually looking decent. However, as I said, I'm not always sure whether I should invest in a pair or save up for another type of shoe.

To try and solve this love-hate relationship I've tried to come up with some outfit ideas.
Outfit # 1: Flatform Trainers

For this look I've chosen a studded trainer, you can find these at www.maxstarstore.com, where you can create your very own trainer, adding flatform, studs or patterns. I've also added a pair of Romwe gun tights which you can find by clicking on the link. Romwe offer a vast range of uber-cool tights and leggings, and for those of you who drool about black milk leggings but don't afford to splurge on a pair Romwe is your answered prayer.

I've also added a pair of plain black leather skater skirt to balanced out the toughness in this look. A skater skirt can always add a girly touch to any of your outfits. As I said in my first post, I absolutely love the grunge revival this year. This crop top, which you can find here: Yo Grabba Grabba Crop Top , is a perfect way to embrace yourselves in this trend. To spice up this all-black outfit, I decided to add this neon satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Company which I absolutely LOVE.

Outfit # 2: The Flatform Creepers

Creepers are another must-have for your A/W collection this year. In this outfit, I was inspired by Wednesday from the Addams Family (which I used to watch everyday).

For this look I've chosen these F-amazing Cherry suede creepers from boohoo. You can grab yourself a pair by clicking on the link given, but you can find something similar almost everywhere. If your budget is low, there are various creepers on ebay.  For Wednesday's signature peter-pan collar dress, I've chosen this one from Topshop which you can find here : Peter Pan Collar Dress. As for accessories, I found these heart back seam tights (which are really versatile for both grunge and preppy/flirty looks) and the skull ring from asos. The Skull studded bag was a perfect match for this outfit.

Outfit # 2: The Flatform Ballet

With a totally different style from the others, this outfit is perfect for school or meetings. The Flatforms chosen are these adorable mint ballets from boohoo, again. (They're on sale!) As I consider mint as a day-time colour, I've tried to create a more fresh look for sunny days in autumn. I found this tea dress which was a perfect match for the mint shoes. Since it's staring to get a bit chilly outside, I've added this washed denim jacket which is also another must-have for this season. For accessories, I decided to go for a brown leather satchel and this fox ring.

SO, shall I invest in a flatform? I hope this post helped any of you who, like me, have a dilemma whether or not they should purchase a pair.

The Very First

Hey there!

Well, this is it, my very first blog ever. I was tempted to start a blog several times but, ye. So first things first. I'm a 19 year old student juggling between the 3 basic entities of a university student : social life, enough sleep and good grades. However, there's this thing, shopping. Having no work or any kind of income except my stipend, I try to find the best deals for shoes and clothing.

Reason for starting this blog? Mainly because I absolutely love reading blogs and I'm hoping to share my idea of style and my perspective on fashion. Hopefully, I will be able to share deals I find and my point of view on certain trends. But hey, I'm not saying there won't be posts about home decor and random stuff.

Caution: I apologize in advance if I post too much posts/images on military boots, but I love  adore them.
Cheers to the grunge revival!
